A success-and-run driver rear-ended a sport utility car and despatched it crashing into a New York City restaurant, injuring 22 individuals, police stated Tuesday.

The crash occurred at about 9 p.m. Monday in higher Manhattan, a police spokesperson stated.

A white Audi exited a gasoline station and struck the rear of a Toyota sport utility car, inflicting the SUV’s driver to lose management of the car, police stated. The SUV mounted the curb and crashed into the entrance window of the Inwood Bar and Grill, police stated.

A complete of 22 individuals have been injured within the collision, police stated, largely by flying glass. Nineteen individuals have been taken to hospitals and the remaining three declined medical consideration. Police stated not one of the accidents have been life-threatening.

The Audi’s driver fled the scene and was being sought Tuesday.
