In what has shocked people in the country, Hyundai Pakistan posted messages on various social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, on Saturday (February 5) demanding secession of Kashmir and expressing solidarity with terrorists operating in Kashmir.

Pakistan celebrates February 5 as Kashmir Solidarity Day where they express solidarity with terrorists and separatists operating in Kashmir.

The Hyundai Pakistan posted on Twitter “Let us remember the sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers and stand in support as they continue to struggle for freedom. #HyundaiPakistan #KashmirSolidarityDay.”

In another post, it wrote “Praying for the liberation of our eternally beautiful Kashmir today and always!”

This created a massive outrage in the country. Many asked how is it even possible that Hyundai is supporting terrorists who have killed many brave soldiers and innocent citizens. They also demanded a complete boycott of Hyundai India.

Hindu Yuva Vahini Gujarat Prabhari Yogi Devnath demanded action against Hyundai saying such attitude cannot be tolerated.

The BJP Youth Wing National Secretary Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga said that it was time to boycott Hyundai India.

Hyundai sells more than five lakh cars in India every year whereas they sell about 8000 cars in a year in Pakistan. Supporting the Boycott Hyundai call, communication strategist Nisheeth Sharan said, “Never could understand why businesses hand over their SM to 2 part teenagers and their wedge assed activism? #BoycottHyundai would be a legitimate response to this in India. And activism will pay dearly with their revenues.”

Expressing his displeasure about the messages posted on social media platforms, BJP leader Kapil Mishra demanded an apology from Hyundai. He posted on Twitter “Dear @HyundaiIndia @Hyundai_Global get this deleted and apologies for the same. This will have a very serious consequences for their business and brand in India.”

After the massive outrage on social media, Hyundai Pakistan locked its social media accounts and deleted some pages. Hyundai India also locked its accounts.
