Another Maoist surrenders in Lone Varatu campaign

While on one hand the security forces have killed the area commander with a reward of 5 lakhs in Dantewada, on the other hand a woman Maoist has surrendered to the security forces under Katekalyan police station of the district.

The said woman Maoist has been identified as Nande Markam, who has been an active member of Chaitya Natya Mandali (CNM) of Maoists. Nande has surrendered before the district’s Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari impressed by the Lone Varatu Abhiyan (the campaign to return home in Gondi language).

It is known that women Maoists have been provided assistance of ₹ 10000 under the rehabilitation scheme of the government. Let us inform that on Friday itself, a Maoist named Raju Markam surrendered before the security forces.

Now after the surrender of Nande, the number of Maoists who surrendered under this campaign has increased to 519, out of which 127 are Maoists on whom the reward was declared by the administration.
