Surajpur: According to the instructions of the government, the work of purchasing paddy on support price from 52310 farmers registered in the district for the Kharif marketing year 2021-2022 started on December 01. In view of the sudden rains, the period of paddy procurement was extended till 07 February in the interest of the farmers. District Food Officer Shri Vijay Kiran informed that 278.64 metric tonnes of paddy was procured from 76 farmers in 19 procurement centers on the last day of February 7 in the district. Thus, out of 52310 farmers registered in 50 procurement centers of the district, a total of 250976.04 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from 47331 farmers. The Food Officer said that 151696.5 MT has been lifted so far. The remaining paddy will be disposed of within the time limit.

Farmers appreciated the system of buying paddy.

The system of procurement management made by the government administration by the farmers selling paddy has been appreciated. Parminder Singh, farmer of Paddy Procurement Center Kandrai said that while appreciating the arrangement of tokens, arrangement of gunny bags, procurement arrangements, he said that there has been no problem in selling paddy this year. Similarly, Narendra Kumar Patel sold paddy in Govindpur, Shri Munnalal Dearness, he expressed his happiness for all the arrangements made by the government administration including the paddy procurement committee and expressed his happiness for better management of the paddy procurement committee.

Farmers were honored with Shriphal

The farmers who came to sell paddy in the paddy procurement centers were honored with felicitations and quince. In which he thanked the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Hon’ble Food Minister and the District Administration, sharing his pleasant experience of making proper arrangements for procurement of paddy in committees and selling paddy uninterruptedly.
