Malayalam film director Ali Akbar and his wife adopted Sanatan Dharma, Ali Akbar changed the name to ‘Ramsimhan’

Malayalam film director Ali Akbar and his wife Lusiamma embraced the Hindu lifestyle at a purification ceremony on Thursday. After coming back to Hinduism, Ali Akbar adopted a new name Ramsimhan.

Interestingly, eight decades ago a Muslim named Unniyan Sahib, along with his family, had renounced Islam and accepted the Hindu way of life in Malabar and changed his name to ‘Ramsimhan’. Unfortunately, a jihadist mob accusing him of apostasy attacked his home and killed Ramsimhan and his brother. Along with this, his family members were forcibly taken to some unknown place. This incident happened a few weeks before India’s independence. It seems that Ali Akbar adopted his new name keeping this incident in mind.

Earlier, in a Facebook post, Ali Akbar had announced his decision to renounce Islam and join Sanatan Dharma. He said that he took this decision because Muslim fundamentalists had posted happy emoticons on the death of CDS General Bipin Rawat.

Ali Akbar was also in the news when he announced a film on ‘1921 Malabar Hindu Massacre’. He sought public support for the production of this film and many people extended a helping hand to make the film a reality. Ali Akbar faced several threats and threats following the announcement of the film, which attempts to counter the left-Islamist narrative about the Hindu genocide in Malabar during the Khilafat movement. Ali Akbar is also an active face in Malayalam TV debate.

In a Facebook Live, Ali Akbar said that he has renounced the Islam in which he was born, and thereafter, he and his family will live a Hindu lifestyle, following Indian culture.(The Organiser)
