The United States embassy and consulates in India have issued a file 1,25,000 scholar visas in 2022, a State Department spokesperson mentioned Wednesday.

State Department spokesperson Ned Price additionally mentioned the US is making each effort to cut back the ready time for visa interview appointment in India as quickly as doable.

“We are successfully lowering visa wait times worldwide. We’ve doubled our hiring of US Foreign Service personnel to do this important work. Visa processing is recovering faster than projected and over the coming year, we expect to reach pre-pandemic processing levels,” he said in response to a question.
