Yakutsk (Russia): The Siberian city recognized as the coldest area on earth is witnessing extreme chilly this winter. In the city of Yakutsk, the temperature had plummeted to minus 50 degrees Celsius earlier this week.

According to information company Reuters, residents within the mining city of Yakutsk, which is situated round 5,000 kilometers east of Moscow within the Russian Far East, are affected by excessive chilly this winter. The temperatures on this city in Siberia often plummet to beneath minus 40 degrees centigrade through the winter months.

A girl, who had come out of her residence within the city surrounded by icy mist sporting two scarves, two pairs of gloves and a number of other caps and hoods stated, “you can’t take this much cold. Either you mold yourself according to the situation or you will become its victim.”

“You don’t really feel the cold in the city. Or maybe it’s just the brain preparing you for it, and telling you that everything is normal,” she added.

Another resident, Nargusun Starostina, who bought frozen fish in a market with out a fridge or freezer, stated there was no particular secret to coping with the acute chilly.

“Just wear warm clothes, in layers, you have to dress like a cabbage,” she stated.
