Brig (R) Suchet Singh ji breathed his last Thursday (January 13) night. He was 79.

Jammu & Kashmir: Veteran Swayamsevak and Jammu & Kashmir Prant Sanghchalak Brig (R) Suchet Singh ji passed away on Thursday (January 13) night in Jammu. He was 79.

After serving Bharat Mata in the armed forces, Brig (R) Suchet Singh ji continued his services to the nation through the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

He was at the forefront during the Shri Amarnath Land agitation in 2008. None of the yatras happened without his active participation.

Mourning the loss of a great soul, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh recalled his close association with the Brigadier (R) during the agitation led by Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti. He said, “Deeply saddened by demise of Brig (Retd) Suchet Singh, RSS veteran from #JammuAndKashmir who was a lifelong inspiration for many of us. Had the privilege of closely working under him in Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti. I share my grief with the family & the Vichar Parivar. RIP”

Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha paid his homage saying Brig (R) Suchet Singh ji was a towering intellectual who served the country till his last breath. “Deeply anguished by the demise of Brigadier (Retd) Suchet Singh Ji. He was a towering intellectual and true nationalist who devoted his entire life to the service of the nation and the welfare of humanity. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief”, he said.

He was keeping unwell for some time. When RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat ji visited Jammu last year, he called upon Brig (R) Sucheta Singh ji to enquire about his health.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President of Jammu & Kashmir, Ravinder Raina ji, paid his homage to the prant Sanghchalak. He said Brig (R) Sucheta Singh ji served Bharat Mata all his life, first in the Army and then in the RSS. His passing away has left a huge void and his devotion and dedication to Bharat Mata will serve as an inspiration for all.

He has left behind his wife and three daughters. His last rites were performed on Friday (January 14) in Jammu.
