We are not their bonded labourers’: CM Mamata Banerjee blocks Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, complains to President too

The tussle between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Governor has come to the fore once again. During a meeting on January 31, 2022, Mamata Banerjee said that she had blocked West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Twitter.

Lashing the blame on the governor too, he said, “He tweets every morning and evening accusing and attacking us. As if he is supreme and we are bonded labour. I can’t bear all this anymore. I blocked him on Twitter today.”

TMC MP complains about Governor to President
Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay said on Monday that President Ram Nath Kovind was requested to remove Governor Dhankhar from the state. He said Vice President Venkaiah Naidu was also present when the request was made.
It is noteworthy that the governor and the state government have come face to face on several issues in recent months, especially after the violence against BJP workers in West Bengal after the state elections.

On Sunday (January 30, 2022), while paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary, the Governor had said that the insults targeted at him cannot deter him from performing his duties. He said violence and democracy cannot go together.
