Punjab Elections: ‘Chief Minister Channi fight against me with a spindle’ challenge to AAP’s CM face Mann

Punjab: Aam Aadmi Party’s chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann has challenged Charanjit Singh Channi. Mann has said that if there is courage, then Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi should contest against me from Dhuri seat. Bhagwant Mann said that I cannot contest from Chamkaur Sahib (Charanjit Channi’s constituency), as it is a reserved seat, but he can fight from Dhuri. I welcome them.

Let us tell you that Dhuri assembly seat is in Sangrur district where Bhagwant Mann is an MP. He was declared the party’s chief ministerial face on January 18, after over 93 per cent of the people voted for him in a phone line survey. At present, Congress’s Dalveer Singh Khangura is currently the MLA from Dhuri assembly seat. A tough competition can be seen in this seat, because since 2012, this seat has been occupied by the Congress. At that time Arvind Khanna of Congress had won.

Captain Amarinder’s big allegation on Punjab CM, said – Channi’s part in illegal sand mining
Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh gave the first exclusive interview to Aaj Tak on Saturday after the alliance with the BJP. Talking to Aaj Tak, Captain Amarinder Singh said that even during my tenure, the case of illegal sand mining had come to the fore. I was going from my plane over the Sutlej, sand mining was going on below. I got the investigation done. The issue of sand was asked by Congress President Sonia Gandhi. He asked me what are you going to do to stop this. Then I asked him that you tell me what action to take. Because if it starts then it will go from bottom to top.

Captain admits mistake

The Captain further said that Sonia had asked me who was involved in sand mining. I told them that it includes everything from bottom to top. It is my fault that I did not act on them during my tenure. Questions should be asked to Charanjit Singh Channi. Channi are also involved in sand mining. Many senior ministers are also involved in this. The mafia dominates in Punjab and our ministers’ share is also involved in it.

Channi was accused of MeToo

On the allegations of MeToo leveled against Channi, the Captain told that one day I reached my house. Ropar’s female SDM came to my house with her husband. He said that Channi harassed him at night by calling him. I called Channi and said that you have to come here and talk. At first he retracted, but later on accepting the mistake, Channi apologized. When the Captain was asked why he had not raised this issue at that time, he said that the matter was over at that time. Channi had apologised.
