Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who can be the president of the ruling BJD, on Monday nominated former occasion MLA Debasish Samantray and BJD chief Subhasish Khuntia from Puri as the occasion’s candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.

The seats will fall vacant in April when the phrases of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and BJD leaders Prasant Nanda and Amar Patnaik within the Rajya Sabha will finish.

According to a notification, election to the three Rajya Sabha seats in Odisha will probably be held on February 27 between 9 am and four pm on the state meeting premises and counting of votes will happen at 5pm. The final date for submitting of nominations is February 15.
