The first half of the fourth day session of the meeting noticed a number of adjournments — first until 12.15 pm, second until 12.30 PM and the third until 12.45 pm

BJP legislators had been marshalled out of the Delhi Assembly on Thursday following their protest towards alleged “anti-farmer” policies of the Arvind Kejriwal government.

The first half of the fourth day session of the assembly saw multiple adjournments — first till 12.15 pm, second till 12.30 PM and the third till 12.45 pm.

The BJP legislators continued their protest against the Delhi government, Speaker Ram Niwas Goel to marshall them out.

The session was marred by multiple adjournments over protests by BJP legislators against alleged “anti-farmer” insurance policies of the Arvind Kejriwal authorities.

Before the graduation of the session within the morning, the opposition MLAs carried miniature ploughs as a mark of protest on the meeting premises.

“The authorities doesn’t give sufficient compensation for land acquisition or a subsidy on agricultural gear. No hospitals and schools had been constructed or sewer strains laid within the villages of Delhi throughout the eight years of the AAP authorities,” Leader of Opposition within the Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri alleged.

He said if the government runs away from a discussion on farmers’ issues in the House, BJP MLAs would stage a dharna outside the chief minister’s chamber in the Assembly.

AAP MLAs also staged a protest near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue on the assembly premises against Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena and top Delhi government officers, including the chief secretary, for allegedly impeding the work of the city government.

House proceedings could commence only at 11.30 am in view of the protest by the AAP.

Inside the House, the AAP MLAs protested against the LG over “alleged” interference within the authorities’s work and trooped into the Well of the House, prompting the Speaker to adjourn until 12.15 pm.

After the House reconvened, BJP MLAs entered the Well carrying posters and elevating slogans towards Kejriwal over alleged anti-farmer insurance policies.

As they didn’t heed the speaker’s request to get again to their seats, he adjourned the home until 12:30 pm and once more until 12:45 pm.
