Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge can be on a daylong go to to Punjab on Thursday the place he would meet the members of the family of Jalandhar MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary and provide his condolences.

Kharge may also take part within the Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, in Pathankot and deal with a public rally.

Kharge, Gandhi and leaders of the Punjab Congress would deal with the rally within the border city of Pathankot.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress would thereafter enter Jammu and Kashmir.

The Congress chief would return to Delhi by Thursday night in a particular flight.

Chaudhary died on Saturday after struggling a cardiac arrest throughout the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jalandhar’s Phillaur, following which the march was halted for 24 hours.

A two-time MP, Chaudhary (76) was strolling with Gandhi throughout the yatra when he fainted. He was rushed to a non-public hospital in Phagwara in an ambulance the place he was declared introduced lifeless.

Chaudhary was cremated with full state honours on Sunday at his native Dhaliwal village in Jalandhar district.
