In a freak accident, a 37-year-old girl ragpicker was crushed to demise when an enormous iron metallic plate fastened on a Mumbai Metro pillar, crashed on her close to the Viviana Mall in Thane officers stated on Thursday.

The Thane Fire Brigade authorities stated the incident occurred at round 10 am when the girl was strolling beside one of many pillars when the metallic plate out of the blue gave away and fell instantly on her from above.

The sufferer has been recognized as Sunita Babasaheb Kamble, residing in Lokmanya Nagarpada.

Thane Police, civic and catastrophe rescue groups rushed to the spot, heaved off the heavy metallic plate and retrieved her physique from the ditch.

Sunita was rushed to the Thane Civil Hospital by the Rabodi Police, the place she was pronounced useless.
