Prime Minister Modi will flag off the world’s longest cruise tour from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Dibrugarh in Assam by way of Bangladesh on January 13, the Information and Public Relations Department of UP mentioned

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off ’Ganga Vilas Cruise’ on January 13 and preparations for the programme have began, district authorities mentioned on Thursday.

”Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the world’s longest cruise tour from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Dibrugarh in Assam by way of Bangladesh on January 13,” the Information and Public Relations Department of Uttar Pradesh mentioned in a tweet in Hindi.

The division mentioned that the cruise after leaving Varanasi will cross by way of Ghazipur, Buxar and Patna earlier than reaching Kolkata.

The cruise will keep in Bangladesh rivers for a fortnight and thereafter will return to India by way of Guwahati and attain Dibrugarh, the division mentioned.

Though the administration is but to obtain any formal programme of Modi from the Prime Minister’s Office, the district administration has already began the preparations.

Varanasi Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma and District Magistrate S Rajalingam have given needed directions on this regard to the officers of Culture division, Tourism division and Inland Waterways Transport.

On Thursday Sharma mentioned that the world’s longest cruise from Varanasi to Dibrugarh shall be flagged off on January 13.

The cruise shall be flagged off from the jetty boarding level reverse to Ravidas Ghat.

According to official sources, Ganga Vilas Cruise will cowl a complete distance of three,200 kms.

This would be the longest voyage on the earth by a cruise. This journey will take a complete of 50 days. On the best way, this cruise will cease at greater than 50 locations, together with World Heritage Sites.

He mentioned that this vessel may even cross by way of nationwide parks and sanctuaries. These embody Sundarban Delta and Kaziranga National Park.
