Close to 100 college students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Lakkidi space of Wayanad district of Kerala developed vomiting, diarrhoea and stomach ache over the previous couple of days, prompting the State Health Department to go to the place and intensify preventive measures.

With numerous college students from the boarding faculty hospitalised over the weekend on the Vythiri Taluk hospital, there have been experiences of a suspected case of food-poisoning.

Subsequently, an professional group of the Health Department carried out an inspection, a launch issued by the district administration stated.

The group collected ingesting water samples from the establishment and despatched them for a take a look at on the Kozhikode Regional Public Health Lab.

Stool and blood samples of the kids have been despatched to the Alappuzha Institute of Virology, and the Bathery Public Health Lab respectively, the discharge stated.

There have been 486 college students learning on the government-run boarding faculty.
