Describing the role of Union Budget 2022-23 in implementing the new education policy on the ground, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that the National Digital University will completely eliminate the problem of educational seats in the country. He said that digital connectivity is what kept our education system alive even during the global pandemic.
Prime Minister Modi was speaking while addressing a webinar organized on the positive impact of the Union Budget 2022-23 on the education sector on Monday. During this, he said that empowering youth is empowering India’s future. Our government has developed a new tradition of interacting with stakeholders before and after the budget. He said that the National Digital University is a unique and unprecedented step of its kind in the education system of the country. Digital University has the potential which can completely eliminate the problem of seats in the country. I urge all the stakeholders to ensure that the Digital University is started at the earliest and it meets the international standards.
In the webinar, the Prime Minister, while highlighting the positive impact of the budget on education, said that in the budget of 2022, special emphasis has been given on five things. The first is universalisation of quality education. Second – skill development, third – urban planning and design, fourth is internationalization i.e. world class foreign universities in India and fifth important aspect is AVGC – animation, visual effects, gaming, comics. There are huge employment opportunities in all of them. It is a huge global market. The Prime Minister said that digital connectivity has kept our education system running in this time of pandemic. He said that we are seeing how the digital divide is rapidly shrinking in India. Innovation is ensuring our inclusion here. With e-Vidya, One Class One Channel, Digital Labs, Digital University, we will be able to take good quality education to the villages.
