A 13-year-old lady, who was allegedly gang-raped in Korba district of Chhattisgarh in June final yr, delivered a child just lately, following which police arrested two males and detained a boy for the offence, an official stated.

The important accused within the case is on the run, the police official stated.

The traumatised lady had not shared something about her ordeal along with her members of the family all these months. But shocked to find out about her supply, they lodged a criticism towards the accused, the police stated.

“The incident of gang-rape had occurred on June 22 final yr. The important accused and his three accomplices took the lady with them when she was alone at her dwelling,” the official said.

They took the girl to an isolated place and allegedly raped her there, he said, adding that the accused had warned her of dire consequences if she informed about the incident to anyone.

“The girl was scared and did not share about it with anyone. But the matter came to light when the victim experienced labour pain and delivered a baby at her residence on January 26,” the official stated.

The members of the family then approached the police and a case was registered on Friday beneath Indian Penal Code Sections 363 (abduction), 376 (rape), 376-D (gang-rape), 506-B (felony intimidation) and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he stated.

Two of the arrested accused are aged 21 and 22, however the age of the boy couldn’t be identified.

“The two accused males have been despatched to jail on Saturday whereas the minor boy was despatched to a juvenile dwelling. The important accused of the crime is on the run,” the official said, adding that efforts were on to nab him.
