Airspace restrictions can be in place in the nationwide capital for eight days this month in view of the Republic Day preparations and celebrations.

From January 19 to 24, restrictions can be in place every day from 1000 hours to 1315 hours. During this era, non-scheduled flights of scheduled airways and chartered flights won’t be allowed to take off or land on the Delhi airport, in keeping with a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).

During this era, scheduled flights won’t be impacted.

On the Republic Day on January 26, no flights can be allowed to take off or land from 0830 hours to 1300 hours, and from 1500 hours to 1800 hours.

As per the NOTAM issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), no touchdown or take-off of flights can be permitted on the Delhi airport from 1500 hours to 1900 hours on January 29, the day of the Beating the Retreat ceremony.

There can be no affect of NOTAM on IAF, BSF, Army aviation helicopter operations in addition to state-owned plane/helicopters which can be flying with the Governor/Chief Minister of a state.
