The controversy regarding hijab in the country is not taking its name to stop. While Muslim organizations and so-called secular leaders are supporting hijab in schools, there is also opposition to it. Those who are opposing it say that the dress code should be followed in schools. Uniform follows the right to equality. From politicians to Bollywood people are reacting to this. Actress Kangana Ranaut has also given her reaction on this issue. Sharing author Anand Ranganathan’s post on Instagram story, Kangana wrote, ‘If you have the guts, don’t wear a burqa in Afghanistan. Learn to be free and not to be imprisoned in a cage.

While many leaders including Asaduddin Owaisi and Priyanka Vadra are in favor of hijab, Yasmin Nigaar Khan, granddaughter of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan has also opposed it. He said that it is necessary to follow a uniform code in schools. If the face is covered with burqa or hijab in the school premises, then there will be an issue of identification. Actress Shabana Azmi has reacted to Kangana’s post. Shabana Azmi wrote- ‘If I am wrong then correct me. Afghanistan is a religious state and India was a secular democratic republic when I last checked?’ It is noteworthy that MP Hema Malini has also supported the uniform in the school.
