In Bihar’s Saharsa district, a Madarsa teacher named Mohammad Imtiyaz, often known as Chunna is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl a number of instances. The sufferer’s mom filed a criticism towards him on October 8. Imtiyaz’s heinous acts have been introduced to mild when the younger sufferer grew to become pregnant. Some members of the Muslim neighborhood called for a panchayat to “resolve” the state of affairs. She claimed that after she filed a criticism and an FIR was lodged at the Sadar Thana police station, a panchayat was convened, providing the sufferer Rs 10,000 to withdraw the case.
As per the sufferer’s mom, people named Tariq, Mumtaz, Anjar, Shamsher, Munna, Chhotkan, and others attended the panchayat in an try to defend the accused. Tariq is reported to maintain the place of Ward Commissioner (Ward Councillor) amongst these people who pressured the sufferer’s household to “compromise”. Additionally, they instructed that the sufferer take abortion medicine. Notably, an FIR has been filed towards the accused below the POCSO Act.
In her criticism, the sufferer’s mom defined that she and her husband resided in Delhi. They entrusted their daughter to her grandmother’s care so she may attend the madrasa and proceed her schooling. However, Imtiyaz subjected her to months of sexual abuse.
The sufferer’s grandmother disclosed, “Imtiaz from the madrasa was engaging in inappropriate behaviour with my granddaughter. He would intimidate her into silence, which is why she couldn’t confide in anyone. She began experiencing abdominal pain and had a high fever, so she was prescribed medication. When her condition did not improve, we took her to a private hospital, where we discovered that the madrasa’s Hafiz Mohammad Imtiyaz had been sexually abusing her. Doctors performed a procedure to remove the fetus in order to save the girl’s life.”
