At least 5 individuals have been injured and several other automobiles broken in pre-poll violence in Nagaland, police stated.
National People’s Party (NPP) and LJP supporters clashed in Thonoknyu meeting seat space in Noklak district on Sunday afternoon.
Four individuals sustained minor accidents because the supporters of each events engaged in heavy stone-pelting. The state of affairs was introduced below management following the deployment of state police, Indian Reserve Battalion and Border Security Force (BSF), a police officer stated.
In one other incident, one individual was injured and 5 automobiles have been broken after stones have been thrown on the convoy of NPP state president Andrew Ahoto Sema when he was getting back from election campaigning close to Thoktsur in Kiphire district on Sunday night, police stated.

A member of Indisen Youth Organisation claimed that Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) supporters got here in six-seven automobiles and indulged in sloganeering, and threw empty bottles on the candidate’s home, and fired six clean pictures earlier than leaving the place.
Police stated two automobiles belonging to LJP supporters have been seized.
Polling for the 60-member meeting in Nagaland might be held on February 27, and the votes might be counted on March 2.
