Punjab well being secretary Ajoy Sharma was transferred after he reportedly objected to the spending sample

The January 26 launch of 400 Aam Aadmi clinics in Punjab appears to have triggered a political storm with the opposition elevating questions over the publicity blitzkrieg carried out by the Bhagwant Mann authorities after a senior bureaucrat raised a crimson flag over the spending spree.

The authorities has discovered itself cornered just a few days earlier than the launch of its flagship programme. Health secretary Ajoy Sharma was transferred after he reportedly objected to the spending of Rs 30 crore on the publicity of the Aam Aadmi Clinics on which the federal government has to date purportedly spent Rs 10 crore.

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday requested the chief minister to elucidate to the individuals of Punjab why his authorities wanted Rs 30 crore to promote the mohalla clinics for which the state was spending Rs 10 crore if it was a “profitable mannequin”.

Senior SAD leader Daljit Singh Cheema said the CM was touting the mohalla clinics as successful with 10,000 persons availing benefit from them. He said if this was so, why was the government not confident that Punjabis would spread the good word about the clinics?

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring expressed serious concern over what he claimed was “trouble and turmoil” within the Aam Aadmi Party authorities in Punjab, with open and outright confrontation between the political government and the forms.

Warring referred to the elimination of the well being secretary over his reported refusal to approve Rs 30 crore for promoting a authorities scheme whose price was Rs 10 crore solely. He sought a clarification from the federal government on the problem, saying it was a matter of grave concern as to how Punjab’s cash was being squandered away in such a brazen method.

The Punjab Congress Committee president identified that this indicated a critical confrontation between the forms and the political government, which isn’t good for the state. He mentioned the well being secretary was not the primary officer to be shunted out and he was not going to be the final, given the best way the AAP authorities was being run in Punjab.

Warring mentioned that with each passing day, the AAP authorities was revealing its inexperience, incompetence, and inefficiency.
