The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has shaped a committee to monitor the work being carried out underneath its Winter Action Plan to curb extreme air air pollution within the metropolis, officers stated on Monday.
The monitoring committee will test the implementation of the measures recommended by the civic physique to curb instances of open burning, unlawful development and demolition waste dumping and mud on roads underneath its jurisdiction.
“The MCD has directed the implementation of restrictions under GRAP-IV across its 12 zones. We have set up a monitoring team which will look after the work being done by the surveillance teams on the ground,” Mayor Shelly Oberoi stated in a press convention.
The civic physique had constituted 517 surveillance groups comprising 1,119 officers to implement its Winter Action Plan. Oberoi stated the civic physique has recognized 13 hotspots the place the air high quality index is the very best and was engaged on curbing the air air pollution in these areas.
A ban has been imposed on unlawful development and demolition waste dumping and open burning. A tremendous starting from Rs 25,000 to Rs 10 lakh shall be imposed for its violation.
Earlier, the MCD had introduced allocation of Rs 20 lakh to every of its 12 zones to help the work for controlling air air pollution within the metropolis. All officers have been advised to hold a detailed watch on compliance with MCD tips and the usage of water sprinklers, anti-smog weapons, and jetting machines to management air pollution.
