Unidentified miscreants took 5 medals, a desktop laptop, two tv units, a gold chain and a gold ring

Medals and different valuables belonging to former India hockey captain Prabodh Tirkey have been stolen from his authorities residence in Bhubaneshwar, when he and his household have been away at their native village.

According to sources, the unidentified miscreants took 5 medals, a desktop laptop, two tv units, a gold chain and a gold ring.

When Prabodh’s elder brother returned to Bhubaneswar, he discovered the lock of the home damaged. He suspects that the neighbours might have had a hand within the housebreaking. Police have filed an FIR at Capital police station and an investigation is on to arrest the culprits.

Prabodh Tirkey was the nationwide captain of sub-junior, junior and India A groups and at last turned the Team India captain. He was within the Indian group that received the 2007 Asia Cup in Chennai. He has a complete of 135 worldwide caps.

“We went to our village, and there was no one in the house. When I returned, I found the lock of my house broken. Inside, everything was scattered and some of the medals were missing,” stated Ashok Tirkey, Prabodh’s brother.

Bhubaneshwar DCP Pratik Singh stated police suspected native residents have been behind the housebreaking.
