As per custom, the time and date for the opening of the well-known temple had been determined at a non secular ceremony held on the erstwhile Tehri royal palace in Narendra Nagar on the event of Basant Panchami

The sacred portals of the Badrinath temple in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district will open at 7:10 am on April 27, authorities mentioned on Thursday.

As per custom, the time and date for the opening of the well-known temple had been determined at a non secular ceremony held on the erstwhile Tehri royal palace in Narendra Nagar on the event of Basant Panchami, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee mentioned.

The ‘Gaadu Ghada’ (oil pitcher) yatra will start on April 12, it mentioned.

As a part of the yatra, a pitcher containing sesame oil is carried to the Himalayan temple forward of its opening yearly.

The portals of Badrinath, a temple devoted to Hindu deity Vishnu had been closed for the winter season on November 19. It stays snowbound all through winter and is reopened in the beginning of summer time.
