Eight individuals have been booked in three instances for allegedly using 12 kids as bonded labour for cattle grazing in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district, a police official stated on Sunday.

The three instances below the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act had been registered on Friday in Sangamner, Parner and Gahrgaon police stations in Ahmednagar district on the grievance of a Thane-based organisation, the official stated.

They have additionally been charged below provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Juvenile Justice Act, he added.

The kids are in the age group of 7-18 and have been reunited with their dad and mom in Nashik and Ahmednagar, a press release from complainant organisation Shramjivi Sanghatana stated on Sunday.
