Advocate Zahid Ali files nomination for BCD Election

New Delhi: Advocate Zahid Taj Ali has filed his nomination for the member post in the Delhi Bar Council elections 2026. Several advocates from Delhi were present on the occasion.

After filing his nomination, Zahid said that he wants to bring about positive change as a BCD member and, if elected, he is committed to addressing all important issues concerning the welfare of advocates. He stated that his objective is to uphold the rights and welfare of lawyers, prioritizing the interests of advocates above caste, religion, and political ideology.

Ali had sought judicial intervention through a writ petition to compel the holding of the BCD elections. Advocate Ali argued that the statutory five-year term of the BCD had expired in 2023, but no elections had been held since then. Advocate Zahid, known for his dynamic and determined personality, is receiving overwhelming support in the Bar Council elections, especially from young and female advocates.

It is noteworthy that the polling for the BCD elections will be held on February 21, 22, and 23.
